Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yesterday on Pintrist I found a friend’s pin for these AWESOME looking OREO STUFFED chocolate chip cookies! I was going to wait to try them, but some how I found myself making a quick trip to food lion to get oreos and cookie mix. I prefer the actual mix to the pre-made dough. Maybe, because I get to lick the spoon after. ;-)

The recipe gave its own recipe for the chocolate chip cookies, but I didn’t feel like dealing with all of that. I think I should have… the dough I made was SUPER sticky and hard to work with.

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes 24 gigantic cookies
Prep: 25 minutes
Cook: 13 minutes

• 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 3 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 package Double Stuff Oreo cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together with a mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In medium bowl mix the flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.

With a cookie scoop, form balls with the dough.

Place one ball on top of an Oreo cookie, and another ball on the bottom. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is fully enclosed with dough.

Place onto parchment or silpat lined baking sheets and bake cookies for approximately 13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

These cookies were AMAZING! On top of them just tasting AMAZING with an oreo inside, I cooked them perfectly. No burns, not totally under cooked. Just perfection!

Buuuut…. They didn’t turn out half as pretty as the picture. Maybe, I put way too much dough on the bottom trying to make the dough cover the whole cookie. That part of it was a fail.

These are so good! Maybe next time I will actually make them from scratch so they have a chance of turning out like the picture! :-)

Here is the blog that gave me the idea!

I have tried them again and again, they still look NOTHING like the picture!
